Resources for York Schools

IDAS (Independent Domestic Abuse Services) in York

offers vital support to young people, families, and schools affected by domestic abuse, sexual violence, or unhealthy relationships. They provide educational workshops, one-to-one support, and training for school staff to help create safer environments where young people can learn about healthy relationships, build resilience, and know where to turn for help.

Yorsexual Health

A free and confidential service in York and North Yorkshire that provides information, testing, and treatment for sexual health and contraception. They offer support for young people, schools, and communities, helping to promote healthy relationships, informed choices, and overall wellbeing.

The Gate York

Offers a range of support for children and young people up to 25 years affected by their own or someone else’s substance use. Their aim is to provide young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to identify and appropriately respond to risks associated with substance use.

The York Health Trainers

Offer a free and confidential stop smoking and vaping service for young people aged 12-17 who want to make positive changes to their health. They provide one-to-one support, practical advice, and motivation to help young people quit smoking or vaping and develop healthier habits for the future.
