Climate Action Plan

The Department for Education (DfE) have asked all schools to have a Climate Action Plan and a designated Climate Lead in place. To help schools we have created a dedicated Climate Action section on the Healthy Schools website, bringing together a range of useful resources, guidance and support to help schools get started and make progress on their sustainability journey.

Please note you do not have to use this Climate Action Plan template, you can use your own version or any other that you may prefer.  Do include actions you are already working on and make sure they don’t all cost money to implement.  Please have a look at the suggested list of actions for your climate action plan to give you some ideas as the types of things you could do.  Do involve the pupils in designing actions, you could link to the Eco Schools award listed below to support pupil action on climate change.

Eco Schools

Once you have completed your Climate Action plan, you can share it with us to gain a certificate and Climate Action Plan logo.  You can do this using your Healthy Schools account, and on this website by logging onto your school account.  To be able to upload you need a Healthy Schools login, please check whether your school already has one of these so you don’t create multiple accounts.  If you’re not sure, please email healthyschools@northyorks.gov.uk 

Please note we will read Climate Action Plans in line with the existing Healthy Schools award submission deadlines.
